About me

My son's pediatrician told me to aim for good enough on his diet. That's not good enough. So this journey began, I kept the plans and friends have asked me to share. Hope I can save other time and money.

Where to begin?

When it was time to introduce solids, my thoughts: What do I do? Where do I start? What are allergens? When do I incorporate those? What food is the least likely to cause an allergenic reaction?

When life gives your lemons...

Finding simple, healthy meal plans to start solids and allergens was overwhelming and I didn’t like any of the options. This was another new parent topic I needed to get caught up on quickly and understand what the F to do next.

In my early research I read that if you give your baby fruit first, they will only want sweet things. Sugar does wonder to our dopamine receptors. I could not find a menu without fruit and sweets as the first food.

Additionally, most resources seemed too complicated, time-consuming, or came with a hefty price tag. Being sleep-deprived was not helpful. I am not a nutritionist. I love eating healthy and believe food is medicine.

Make the best lemonade

My goal was to get a healthy eater who ate everything and introduce allergens safely. These are basic menus with excellent ingredients. My approach? It’s inspired by a mix of Solid Starts (though a lot of their menu was way too complex for me), the Whole30 diet (which has done wonders for my health), and the French diet (which emphasizes a love for vegetables and variety).

"Rice contains arsenic?! What the... you must be joking" - me after reading rice is not good for babies and may be linked to autism.

I’ll also include links to studies backing up my choices, so you can use your own critical thinking to decide if this works for your family. And while the site may eventually include ads to cover costs, I’m not being paid to promote specific brands or products. Some of the links are linked to Amazon and I may receive a commission if you purchase them. Anything I link to or recommend, I use and purchased myself.

If you have any menu suggestions, feel free to share—I’d love to incorporate them and help make this resource even better for all of us!

Warning: Ranting

These meal plans are free because between sleep consultants and pricey baby products, I’ve felt preyed upon during those 3AM searches for a solution. Pricey downloads or guides from “experts” who in reality just did it with their kids.
